Meet the Team Behind Your Pursuit

Austin Carr, Founder

Austin Carr is the founder of City Pursuit Chicago, a vision shaped by his conviction that meaningful Christian relationships flourish best in high-quality, intentional and faith-centered spaces. Long before launching CPC, Austin was already creating opportunities for people to connect—including organizing his first group blind date back in 2015. As it turns out, Austin and his future wife Erica were both part of that very first group.

When he’s not matchmaking friends or spending time with family, Austin serves as President of Intentional Sports, a Chicago-based nonprofit on the city’s West Side that uses athletics as a vehicle to improve outcomes for underserved youth. Prior to his role at IS, Austin spent four seasons in the NFL as a wide receiver with the New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints from 2017-2021.

Austin earned his B.A. in Philosophy from Northwestern University (Go Cats), an M.S. in Management Studies from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, and most recently completed his Master of Divinity from Moody Theological Seminary in Spring 2025, with an emphasis in biblical languages. His work has been featured by the Gospel Coalition, where he writes on faith and culture.

He and Erica—his college sweetheart—are the proud parents of four boys and active members at Park Community Church. When he’s not investing in his family, church, or nonprofit work, Austin genuinely enjoys helping connect people and seeing meaningful relationships flourish.
